Rules:  Each contestant must be prepared to sing up to 2 songs that must be less than 4 minutes. The songs must be submitted with registration form on or before June 30th. Music will be provided by a karaoke DJ and all efforts will be made to accomodate the contestant’s first and second choice.  Contestants will be notified by email (or mail if they do not have email) as to the songs they will be expected to perform.   The first 25 registrants will perform at least one song. Judges will vote on the performances and determine the top 5 contestants. The top 5 contestants will perform an additional song. After all 5 have performed, judges will confer and decide on the contestants standing between themselves.  The judges results will be confidential until after the “audience” votes.  Ballots will be available for each of the 5 finalists and the audience will be invited to vote for their favorite performer. Votes may be cast for 20 minutes, at which time, the votes will be counted by an independent committee.  It is estimated that the singing portion of the competition will end between 3:30 and 4PM.  Allowing for voting tabulation, the winner of the contest will be determined by audience voting 50% and judges voting 50%.  In the event of a tie, a “sing-off” will be performed by the contestants who are tied and the winner will be determined by audience response.  Judges will announce the final determination of the winner, and all decisions are final. Prizes will be awarded to the winner at the conclusion of the competition.
